IDEA

GOLDEN-ICE aims at exploiting the EGNOS and EDAS innovations in the field of winter services equipments (professional trucks and vehicles) with the objective to introduce advanced concepts in salt spreading control and road safety. GOLDEN-ICE improves the de-icing strategy currently employed by highways management and municipal departments. Heavy snow events and major sub zero temperature Europe-wide amplified the problems of increasing salt spreading optimization.

The main goal will be then to optimize the spreading functionalities on the basis of road morphology associated to precise EGNOS/EDAS positioning.

Reduction of salt cost, reduction of salt environmental impact and increased citizens (i.e. drivers) security are the main measurable results. Read More...
